Peshawar:
The Bhai Joga Singh Gurdwara, this century, one of the historic Sikh Sikh places in Peshawar, fell into ruins due to the non-liberation of funds for its restoration.
The Gurdwara, located in the densely populated Dabgari region, was seriously damaged during the devastating earthquake of 2005 but remains not distributed to date.
The structure, which would be over 200 years old, is now in a fragile state. Cracks appeared in the walls of its upper floors and rooms, while rainwater infiltrates the damaged roofs, aggravating its condition over time.
The minority members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAS) Gurpal Singh and Askar Pervez have recently visited the site and expressed serious concerns concerning its deterioration of the State. The MPA GURPAL SINGH said that repeated calls had been launched to the authorities concerned for the release of funds, but no progress has so far been made.
The two legislators jointly submitted a resolution to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly secretariat, urging the federal government to immediately allocate funds for the reconstruction and repair of the Gurdwara. They stressed that the historic religious site, damaged during the 2005 earthquake, must be kept without further delay.
