The president of the Pakistan Party Party (PPP), Bilawal, Bhutto Zardari, said that supporters of the Kalabagh dam were trying to create cracks among the provinces at a time when the country needs to confront the aggression of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Industry River.
“Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej are in flooding in Punjab, but I do not understand why and again controversial dam proposals are being flothered,” he deplored by speaking to the media in Sukkur on Tuesday.
The president of the PPP, accompanied by the chief minister of the Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, of the provincial ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Jam Khan Shoro visited the damdu and Sukkur dams. He was informed of the dams and the approaching flood.
The Bilawal stressed that such voices of support for Kalabagh create not only differences between the provinces, but the own case of the Pakistan Indus Water Treaty and the Historical Authority of the Government of Modi against Sindhu is affected.

He observed that the flood crosses three rivers from Punjab, not by the Indus on which the Kalabagh project is desired.
“We want all the provinces to answer the brothers like Modi. There is no reason to fight between us.” He said that Modi tries to reproduce the approach of Israel, which cuts water and food supplies to Palestine. “Modi wants either to flood people by freeing flood waters or leaving them thirsty without water.”
However, Bilawal promised that Pakistan would not let Moda succeed in its harmful plans. He argued that India will have to accept and implement the Indus water Treaty where he will have to abandon the control of the three Eastern rivers. “We are ready to fight this case.”

The President of the PPP said that the federal government has inevitably delayed financial support through the Benazir income support program (BISP) to people affected by rain and floods in Punjab, KP and GB.
He observed that more than two weeks have passed since a certain number of people have been moved to Punjab, but they have not yet received financial aid. “The efforts of the Punjab government to provide a ration and organize other facilities for people affected by the floods are insufficient.”
According to him, he also personally asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to use the BISP platform for such disbursements, because the program offers the most transparent network for this exercise.

“I want to repeat this request again because the people of Punjab have been in the camps for about two weeks.” He noted that there are different rescue, relief and reconstruction phases with which the government helps victims of natural disasters.
Bilawal wondered why the federal government had not launched an appeal for global financial aid to help people who suffer from the consequences of the effects of climate change.
He recalled that in 2022, the floods of the Sindh and Balutchistan when he was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, he launched an appeal for aid in reconstruction and also obtained commitments and funds.
