Conor McGregor makes an effort to present himself to the presidency of Ireland, and apparently Elon Musk is behind him.
The UFC fighter wrote in March that he would race for his functions and implore people to sign a petition last month which “would ensure” that he is on the ballot.
According to Irish News, however, the Prime Minister of the country, Simon Harris, ordered the Gael party advisers to prevent independent candidates like McGregor from being appointed.

The news attracted Elon Musk’s attention to X, and he was not happy.
“Shame on Simon Harris for having blocked tyrannical the will of the people of Ireland!” Musk posted on X.
Musk then fell as close to an approval that we could have.
“Conor McGregor for the president to save Ireland,” he said.
McGregor and Musk were on the faceTime with each other earlier this week.
McGregor published an online petition last month, citing regulations which “force a candidate to obtain appointments of twenty members of the Ouireachtas or four county councils to be eligible for the ballot”.
“This system, although intended to ensure a certain degree of political influence among the candidates, inadvertently limits the direct voice of the Irish electorate,” said McGregor.

“In light of this, I propose a petition to recommend a modification of the appointment process to allow my name to be included on the ballot. I maintain that the citizens of Ireland, at home and abroad, should have the endless right to determine the candidates who appear on the presidential election. Process, thus allowing Ireland residents to shape their own future.”
The multitime champion opposed a bill concerning the EU migration pact.
“Ireland must fully implement the EU migration pact by June 12, 2026. Thus, by June 12, 2026, several laws must be adopted by the two chambers of the ireachtas, then signed by the president … which will resist the government and will oppose this bill? … I will do it!” McGregor wrote in March.
“It is the people of Ireland! Always! It is a real democracy! .. It is the future of Ireland with me as president. All the citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice on their future! May God bless our people. Vote McGregor and make your voice heard!”
McGregor criticized the Irish White House government in order to raise awareness of “problems with which the inhabitants of Ireland” are confronted with the residents of Ireland “.
Last September, he teased a presidential race potential in Ireland, calling himself the “only logical choice”. He officially announced his campaign shortly after visiting President Donald Trump at the White House.

McGregor has not fought since his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021. He was supposed to return last year, but an injury to the toe held him outside the octagon. He has since said that he would only return to a stadium but only showed interest UFC event at the White House Next year.
