In a significant development for Pakistani-Iranian relations, a direct flight between Islamabad and Tehran was restored after 60 years, Iran Air Tour should operate a weekly service every Tuesday.
On Thursday, the inaugural ceremony of the Air Liaison Recovered took place at Islamabad International Airport, looking for a large number of guests from Pakistan and Iran. The officials welcomed this decision as an important step for regional connectivity, tourism and trade.
Speaking on occasion, the deputy chief of the Iranian mission in Pakistan, Nabi Shirazi, said that the launch of the flights of Iran Air Tour would promote tourism, allowing religious pilgrims, students and business members to easily travel between the two capitals.
Shirazi added that the bilateral air agreement was successfully finalized after the recent visit of the Iranian president, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. He congratulated the citizens of the two countries, as well as stakeholders in the tourism and business sectors, for the restoration of thefts.
The Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, also expressed the optimism that the resumption of direct flights would give tourism “an unprecedented boost”, allowing Iranian citizens to discover the beauty and natural hospitality of Pakistan.
Zaheer Abbas Khan, director of the Pays d’Iran Air Tour, announced the start of direct flights between Islamabad and Tehran.
