The next Nintendo Direct is almost there! Earlier this week, the company announced that it would broadcast a showcase today, and I expect it to be major.
“Join us on September 12 at 6 am PT for a direct Nintendo,” said the ad. “Listen to about 60 minutes of information on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch to come.”
This time is quite significant, because most Nintendo run only the 40 minutes approximately. It would suggest that there are a lot in reserve for us and, in this spirit, I will decompose what to expect.

Nintendo Direct September 2025: predictions
Arriving at about an hour, it will be a direct direct Nintendo.
There is no official word about what to expect, but Nintendo confirmed that it would contain “information on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games”, so expect new revelations and ads.
I think it will be the last big direct Nintendo of 2025, so I expect news on a wide range of titles still planned for this year. Namely in the form of a new Kirby Air Riders Trailer exit dates for the trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond And Hyrule Warriors: age of imprisonment.
I also hope for some new game announcements, ideally something Mario in relation. It’s just an intuition, but it’s been a while since we had our last big Mario Sports game, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a new one today.
Some other Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade packs are also likely, because there are still a lot of large Nintendo Switch games without them.
I would expect new trailers from titles released in 2026. Duskbloods is my great prediction in this regard. We could even get a concrete release date if we are lucky.
On the third party front, expect a new trailer to Borderlands 4. This game may already be on other platforms, but its launch of Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for next month.
