President Zardari arrives in China during the 10 -day visit

President Asif Ali Zardari reached Chengdu on Friday during a 10 -day visit to China. The invitation was extended by the Chinese government, reported the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

When he arrived at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, the president was warmly received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sun Weidong, and the vice-governor of Sichuan province, Huang Ruixue.

Pakistan ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong were also present to welcome the president, a press release from a presidency said.

In addition to Chengdu, the president will also visit the autonomous region of Shanghai and Xinjiang Uygur during his stay in China from September 12 to 21 and will hold meetings with the provincial management, the president’s spokesman for a statement said.

Discussions will encompass Pakistani-Chinese bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on economic and commercial cooperation, the Chinese-Pakistani Economic Corridor (CPEC) and future connectivity initiatives.

The two parties will also exchange views of bilateral cooperation at the multilateral forum. The visit underlines the tradition of high -level exchanges between Pakistan and China, in addition to reaffirming mutual support on questions of fundamental interests, to advance economic and commercial cooperation, including CPEC, and to highlight their joint commitment to regional peace, development and stability.
