Islamabad:
The Federal Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal presided on Thursday a meeting of the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) which approved three development projects and recommended four to Ecnec for an additional examination and approval.
The forum approved a revised project, namely “action to strengthen performance for the inclusive and reactive education program (component TA)” at the cost of RS1383.48 million.
The CDWP has referred a project, namely “the establishment of Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research, Lahore” worth 74,920,920.140 million rupees at the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for a more in -depth examination. The project should be funded by the provincial ADP.
A revised project linked to the energy sector, namely “Harpo Hydropower Project (34.5 MW)” was returned to the ECNEC with the revised cost of RS34,340,185 million.
Two projects related to transport and communications, namely “the construction of 8-way air bridges at Imamia Colonly Railway Crossing Shahdara (N-5)” with the revised cost of 4,673.137 million rupees were approved at the meeting.
Another project revised in Reunion, namely “the acquisition of land, assigned the properties, remuneration and relocation of public services for the construction of 959 kilometers long Karachore Motorway (KLM) (excluding 136 km of M-9 and 57 km of M-4 finished” with a value of RS68,739.930 million 739.930 million for the ECNEC for additional consideration.
A project namely “Balouthistan Water Resources Development Project (BWRDSP) for Zhob and Mula River Basin (revised)” was returned to the Ecnec with the revised cost of RS49,901,411 million.
The forum also granted the authorization of the concept for exploring international funding for five customs clearance proposals, including three financing proposals linked to Balutchistan agriculture.
