The Sky and Angel Reese of Chicago finished the 2025 season on a sour note when the star player of the team said that she “might have to move in a different direction and do what is best for me” if the team does not improve their prospects.
Reese was suspended by the team for his “harmful” comments, then missed the last three games of the season with what the team called a back injury, causing speculation that the relationship was fractured.
But Sky’s managing director Jeff Pagliocca said Reese would be part of the team “until I hear differently”.

“This is the direction we are going to move is that it is on the list,” he told journalists earlier this week.
“Angel is a young ascending talent in this league which had two very, very good seasons here in Chicago,” Pagliocca said on Friday. “Obviously, we went through what we did. I feel like I was closing the chapter on it. She spoke to her teammates, she spoke publicly. We have evolved as a team. She is a special player. And I have good conversations with Angel daily, with her team daily. They are constant and productive.”
