Pakistan, Egypt condemns Israeli strikes before the Arab-Islamic summit

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, arrived in Doha on Sunday to lead the Pakistan delegation to the ministerial meeting before the Islamic emergency summit convened in response to the strikes of Israel against Qatar.

Upon his arrival, DAR was received by the Pakistan ambassador to Qatar, the Permanent Pakistan representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and senior officials of the Qatari government.

On the sidelines of the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers, Dar had talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Abdeatty.

The two parties strongly condemned Israel’s “illegal strikes” on Qatar and other Muslim nations, denouncing them as blatant violations of sovereignty and international law.

The two foreign ministers have reaffirmed the unshakable support of their country to the Palestinian cause and stressed the urgent need for unity through the Ummah Muslim to deal with the aggression and maintain the rights of the Palestinians.

The Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit in Doha is involved in the midst of regional tensions that have triggered regional tensions launched by the extended military campaign of Israel, which aroused international criticism to undermine the cease-fire efforts and further destabilize the Middle East.

Coparraine by Pakistan, the summit was called in response to the recent Israeli air strikes in Doha, as well as the rapid deteriorated situation in Palestine and by rising an Israeli aggression in Gaza and in the West Bank.

According to a press release from Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the leaders and senior officials of the Member States of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OCI) will meet in Doha to deliberate on the crisis and trace a joint strategy to combat current developments.

FO also noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited DOHA earlier on September 11, where he met Qatari leaders and expressed the solidarity and support of Pakistan.

“Pakistan firmly condemns the Israeli aggression against Qatar and other states of the region and reaffirms its commitment to regional peace, security and sovereignty of its partners,” added the office of foreigners.

Islamabad reiterated its firm position on the question of Palestine and called for an immediate end to hostilities by dialogue.

Israel has targeted Hamas leaders last Tuesday in strikes on the Qatari capital, killing five Hamas members and a Qatari security official. The attack led to a general condemnation, including monarchies in the Allied Gulf in the United States, the main funder of Israel.
