- Sharp Dynambook RA73 / VY weighs 849 g, but the choices of chips vary from Ryzen 5 pro to Ryzen 7
- Magnesium alloy construction and thin glasses intelligently shrink its overall footprint
- Memory options include 16 GB or 32 GB with storage up to 1 to PCIe SSD
The Sharp Dynambook division presented what it calls the new lightest AMD notebook in the world, the Dynambook RA73 / VY.
This 13.3-inch model weighs approximately 849 g, undercoat the 875g Dynamic GA83 / XW released in 2023.
It has an LCD WUXGA panel, and there is also an optional touch -compatible version that increases the weight to around 927 g. Even with this increase, it remains among the lightest laptops in industry, because most notebooks weigh more than 1 kg.
Decent specifications with an astronomical price
The Light Dynambook RA73 / VY construction is largely the result of meticulous engineering choice, the magnesium alloy body and the thin telescope reducing the overall footprint to around 298.8 x 212 x 17.7–18.7 mm for the non -affected version.
This device is powered by AMD processors, with buyers capable of choosing from Ryzen 5 Pro 220, Ryzen 5 Pro 230, Ryzen 5 220, Ryzen 5 230 or Ryzen 7 250 CPU.
The memory options are 16 GB or 32 GB, while the storage choices vary from 256 GB to 1 to PCIe SSD.
For connectivity, the RA73 / VY includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a microSD card location and a standard audio socket.
The device can be configured to use fingerprint or facial recognition sensors and may even include a 5G or 4G modem.
According to Dynambook, the device has the compliance “PC-Core SECURED-CORE” for additional protection and supports the cancellation of noise-based noise and an AI camera effector, both designed for the web conference.
These features can appeal to professionals, although their value on standard tools is uncertain.
This is one of the most portable laptops on the market, but its price of 461,300 yen (around $ 3,1330) is difficult to justify for a laptop whose exceptional characteristic is the reduction in weight.
Although the RA73 / VY adds small improvements compared to its predecessor, its impact outside Japan is not clear.
Sharp has not announced global availability, but I hope it will be available worldwide.
Complete journals and practical tests will probably be necessary to determine whether its construction and light specifications justify the cost.
In addition to the RA73 / VY, Dynonook also started accepting orders for the 14-inch XA74 / VY, which includes a “self-reproductive battery” and the Ba86 / Vy Business 16-inch laptop.
