The chapter of the Sindh of the Pakistani peoples (PPP) party has announced the suspension of all political activities in the province until further notice. The decision was made for the worsening of floods in the Sindh.
The announcement was made by the president of the PPP Sindh, Nisar Khuhro, who said that political commitments would remain pending until the water levels in the rivers normalize. He stressed that the immediate priority of the party is to support the communities affected by the floods, especially in the areas of Katcha (Riverine).
“PPP leaders must manifest themselves to support the victims of the floods in all possible ways,” said Khuhro, urging party leaders and workers to establish emergency camps and ensure that the aid reached from displaced and vulnerable families.

He reiterated the long -standing commitment of PPP to stand by people in times of difficulty, adding that the party would continue to play an active role in help and rehabilitation efforts.
Khuhro also assured that the Sindh government was on alert, closely monitoring the situation. He expressed hope that the incoming flood waters would pass without causing damage.
Earlier in the day, the Sindh -Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called on the federal government to immediately request international aid from the United Nations to support flood rescue operations.
While inspecting the Guddu and Sukkur dams to assess water levels in the Indus River, Shah reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to protect life and property.
He expressed the optimism that flood waters would go through the Sukkur dam without causing major destruction, adding that ministers and civil servants are actively deployed from Kashmore to Keti Bandar.

The chief minister also echoed the president of the PPP, the president of the PPP, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the appeal for the immediate disbursement of the rescue funds through the Benazir income support program (BISP), a process which he noted remains pending.
“The federal government must act quickly on the call for international aid and accelerate the release of funds for help efforts,” said the CM.
