Islamabad:
Pakistan submitted a set of proposals on Sunday to the preparatory ministerial meeting at the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, calling for Israel’s responsibility, the suspension of its UN membership and the formation of an Arab-Islamic working group to counter what it described as the “mentality” of Tel Aviv.
Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, described a response of seven points to the Israeli air strikes in Qatar, urging Muslim states to unite behind concrete measures.
The proposals included: holding Israel responsible for war crimes; Creation of an joint Arab-Islamic working group to dissuade the new assault; continuing the suspension of the members of the United Nations Israel; implement punitive measures by the Member States; require through the United Nations Security Council an immediate and permanent ceasefire with the exchanges of prisoners; Ensure unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza; And relaunch a real political process for a solution to two states.
“Israel must be held responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity. He should not be authorized to get away by attacking Islamic countries and killing people with impunity,” said Dar in his speech, condemning the “illegal and unlike” strike on Qatar as a blatant violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Qatar targeting was not only an assault against a sovereign state but also an attack on diplomacy and mediation itself, given the central role of Doha in the facilitation of ceasefire efforts with Egypt and the United States.
He pointed out that Pakistan, as a non -permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (USC), had already helped to convene an emergency session on CNSC on the issue and would continue to work with OIC and Arab partners to put pressure for application measures, including the deployment of an international protective force for Gaza.
DAR warned that the repeated strikes of Israel in the region reflected a “dangerous trend” which threatened international peace and security. “No state is immune to such a disadvantaged entity which defies all the precepts of civilized behavior,” he noted.
Reaffirming Islamabad’s solidarity with Doha, Dar said Pakistan supported Qatar’s inalienable law to defend its sovereignty and the security of its people. He added that the Arab-Islamic world must increase with “unity, resolution and objective” to protect the world order of the growing aggression of Israel.
The Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit is expected to take place in Doha on Monday, co-designed by Qatar, Pakistan and other Islamic countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the extraordinary summit in Doha. The summit will discuss Israeli strikes on Qatar and the joint action plan.
Many Islamic countries are looking for tangible measures against Israel after the Jews launched air strikes against Hamas leaders in Qatar on Tuesday last week. Hamas said five of its members and a local security official have been killed, including the son of Hamas high-level negotiator Khalil al-Hayya.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Doha on September 11, where he met Qatari management and expressed his solidarity and the support of Pakistan. “Pakistan firmly condemns the Israeli aggression against Qatar and other states in the region,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said at that time.
“Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to regional peace, security and sovereignty of its partners,” added the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The declaration reiterated the position of Pakistan, the position of Palestine and called for an immediate end to hostilities by dialogue.
Dr. Badr Abdelatty had discussions with his Egyptian counterpart on Sunday, Dr. Badr Abdeatty on Sunday. The two foreign ministers condemned illegal Israeli strikes on Qatar and other Muslim nations, which calls them blatant violations of sovereignty and international law.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dar and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdeatty had reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and stressed the urgent need for unity through the Muslim Ummah.
In addition, Dar met the Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato ‘Seri Mohamad Hasan on the sidelines of the preparatory meeting in Doha. “They strongly condemned Israeli strikes on Qatar and other Muslim nations such as blatant violations of sovereignty and international law,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“They reaffirmed unshakable support for the Palestinian cause and stressed the vital importance of unity through the Muslim omitée. They welcomed the Arab Islamic summit as appropriate and essential to collective action at this critical stage.”
