Cincinnati Bengals could be faced with a major setback with the star quarter of Joe Burrow.
Burrow left the Jacksonville jaguars’ jaguars with an injury to the toes on Sunday, and the NFL Network said it was feared to have a 3rd year lawn toe. This type of injury generally requires surgery and is delivered with long recovery.
Bengals would have sent images of Burrow’s injury to Dr. Robert Anderson, a feet specialist, to determine if surgery is necessary. If this is the case, recovery could mark Burrow up to three months – mainly the whole regular season.

The team confirmed that Burrow was faced with an injury to the toes, although no decision was made to find out if he will need surgery. The injury occurred in the second trimester when Arik Armstead was dismissed Burrow. He stayed on the lawn and slammed his frustration helmet.

In the following series, after the Bengals intercepted Trevor Lawrence, the Jake Browning backup entered the game while Burrow was helped in the locker room for evaluation.
Browning then led the Bengals to a return victory, plunging into the goal zone with only a few seconds playing in the fourth quarter to seal a 31-27 victory.

Cincinnati improved at 2-0 to start the 2025 season, but the franchise retains its breath that Burrow could come back as soon as possible. Bengals missed the playoffs last year despite the high season of Burrow, when he led the NFL with 4,918 yields of overtaking and 43 affected on the way to be appointed player of the year back.
The injuries, however, were a recurring challenge for the 28-year-old quarter-Arrière. He tore several ligaments in his left knee in 2020 and underwent a wrist ligament torn in 2023, the two injuries ending his season prematurely.

An announcement of Bengals could arrive on Monday, but it is expected that Burrow is excluded at least for next week’s match against the Vikings of Minnesota.
