The temple of renown of professional football and the legend of Miami dolphins, Dan Marino, called in 2007 when he received a personal health diagnosis.
Now he shares his trip to help others that can also be affected.
Marino learned that year, he had received a diagnosis of steatosis hepatitis associated with metabolic dysfunction (Mash), also known as fatty liver disease. In partnership with Novo Nordisk and his campaign of non -ordinary stories, Marino joined a group of former athletes to share their trips.

“Novo Nordisk is a company with which I wanted to get involved because they are trying to make a difference,” he told PK Press Club Digital on Monday. “There is one in 20 Americans who have a fatty liver disease, puree and 15 million Americans. It is an awareness campaign to make people aware of going to see your doctor, and it is something that is manageable.”

Although Marino does not reveal the stories of athlete colleagues in the campaign of unusual stories, the project allows adults like him the opportunity to share important moments and life transitions that often occur behind the scenes. And, of course, with any life change, there is support along the way.
For Marino, the diagnosis may have been a shock, but he was positive after hearing what his doctor had to say.
“It is manageable with early detection,” he said. “So go to your doctor and get your normal balance sheets as you always do. Diet and exercise are always the great thing.”

Marino, who finished the top 10 of the NFL of all time for yards and affected after 17 seasons, underlined a sports lesson which helped him since learning his diagnosis.
“There is one thing that I always withdraw from football, athletics and sports: it’s positive,” he said. “Aways Adving and Look for answers and see what you can do and how you can be the best possible. I would say that I have understood that it is a problem, they let me know. But most is that it is manageable and that it deals with this.
“Again, having this great attitude and doing the things you need to do to take care of yourself. There are a lot of examples of that in everyone’s life, there are really.”

Today, Marino continues to exercise and stick to a healthy diet to manage her puree. He was 64 years old on Monday, and with the support of his wife, Claire, he continues to be proactive to reshape his lifestyle.
