SlimBook has published new versions of its laptops EVO 14 and EVO 15 supplied by the Ryzen AI 9 365 processor.
The chip includes a 10 -core processor and 20 teas, integrated graphics Radeon 880m and an NPU AI 50Tops Ryzen.
The two laptops aim to combine thin and light conceptions with high -end equipment during shipping with preinstalled Linux.
Display and design considerations
The EVO 14 is delivered with a 14 -inch IPS IPS offering a resolution of 2880 x 1800, a cooling rate of 120 Hz and a brightness up to 500 nits.
It measures 16.9 mm thick, weighs 1.4 kg and includes an 80Wh battery in an aluminum frame.
The EVO 15 is larger at 15.3 inch with a resolution 2560 x 1600 and 400 nits pic of brightness.
It has a digital keyboard, a 99Wh battery, and weighs 1.6 kg 18.1 mm thick.
Although the two models are thin and portable, the performance of the real world in demanding workloads will determine if they can compete with the best laptops in their class.
Port selection includes USB4 with DisplayPort 1.4 and 100W Charge, USB 3.2 Type-C and Type-A, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet and an SDXC card reader.
The two models are delivered with two cooling fans, IR 1080p webcams, stereo speakers and white backlit keyboards.
The configurations evolve up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 and 16 TB of NVME PCIe 4.0 storage on two m.2 locations.
The basic model includes 16 GB of RAM (two 8 GB SODIMMS) and an SSD of 500 GB, with options to extend up to 128 GB of memory and 8 TB of storage, although higher configurations increase the price.
A key feature is that laptops are shipped with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora and Manjaro preinstalled, while the installation of Windows is also available for an additional license.
This gives buyers an immediate path to the best Linux distros without additional configuration.
These laptops also include a WiFi 6 card, with WiFi 7 offered as an upgrade, although SlimBook notes that it currently works only as a basis on Linux, indicating possible pilot limitations.
The starting price of the Slimpook EVO 14 and EVO 15 is € 1077 ($ 1,265).
