- The Xiaomi 17 pro and Xiaomi 17 pro max have been tatthed
- These phones have a name inspired by the iPhone and a camera block
- However, they also have exceptional features such as a rear screen and a new powerful chipset
Xiaomi has just teased his next flagship telephony series, and so far there are three quite notable things about these handsets – two of which are promising, and the other being more questionable.
This questionable aspect is the name, in particular of the top model, the Xiaomi 17 pro max. Yes, you read that right: Xiaomi’s next flagship phone is called Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. For reference, the current top model of the series is the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Thus, Xiaomi jumped number 16, in all likelihood, to coincide with the same number as the iPhone 17 series. In addition to that, he renamed the top model to correspond to the name of the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
In addition, the camera block on the new flagship product of Xiaomi – presented in a Teaser video (via Android Authority) – seems wider and more iPhone 17 type here than on previous models.
But, in all honesty, Xiaomi seems to make the use of the large camera block better than Apple, because a large part of the empty space, it houses a “magic rear screen”.
This is a secondary screen on the back of the phone, the one you can use to display the clock, such as a viewfinder for selfie photos (which means that you can use the main cameras for these) and to see the applications information.
In fact, this is not a new thing for Xiaomi because the company has tried a similar idea with the Xiaomi Mi 11 years ago. In my opinion, this made it one of the most interesting phones of this year, and although Xiaomi has abandoned the rear screen for the following models, I am happy to see that it comes back here – and in what seems to be a larger and more capable form.
It could be really useful and should certainly help the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max of Rivaux – including the iPhone 17 series.
Extreme power too
The other notable aspect of these phones is that they will be the first to use the Extreme Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 edition.
By breaking down, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is the confusing successor to the Snapdragon 8 elite – a chipset that feeds many of the best Android phones this year.
So, it is very new and very powerful, and the extreme edition is even more powerful, which has a slightly faster 4.7 GHz first -rate processor.
These phones should be launched before the end of September, so not long ago to wait for them – although they launch on a global scale at this stage or initially just in China remains to be seen.
But each time they land, thanks to this rear screen, they have a chance to be among the most interesting handsets available.
