Orlando Magic’s great man, Jonathan Isaac, publishes his new signature sneaker, Judah 2, who will include six biblical verses.

For Isaac, a frank Christian with many conservative views, the objective of the shoe is not to be afraid to express your opinion. But suddenly, with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, this goal means much more.

“This is freedom of expression,” Isaac told PK Press Club Digital in a recent interview. “It is a question of seeing a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and the King of the world and the Lord and Savior of my life, and I want to wear these shoes in homage to him. And whoever wants to do the same, to join me.

“If you do not agree with me, I have always done my best with the positions I took to be graceful and I really try to take care and understand the person on the other side. Maybe we agree to disagree, but I am never the type to try to impose myself on anyone.”

Isaac became friends with Kirk over the years, appearing on his podcast and sent SMS on occasion. Like many others, Isaac has taken the terrible news.

“It’s hard to put words. … Really the only thing I can say is just to talk to who was Charlie. Everyone will talk about what Charlie said and his positions and things like that – Charlie had my respect,” said Isaac. “Not because I agree with everything he had said or done. Some of the conversations we had even disagreed with the things he said. But we always had a civilian speech, and he was always ready to explain why he thought what he thought. For me, he is a respectable man.”

One of Kirk’s goals was similar to that of Isaac with his new sneakers.

“Let us build this thing as a mark to unite Christians, the lovers of God, the lovers of the country throughout the country, and give them a point of contact to know each other, recognize themselves, but also, to have their faith just before them,” said Isaac about his sneaker and why he places biblical verses. “”

Judah 1 was “completely exhausted”, according to Isaac, so he wanted to intensify his game that appeal.

“I was like” let’s get it to another level “in terms of design. I wanted to move the back verse of the shoe at the front of the shoe …”, he said. “Just those who speak to me and to the team. What would be encouraging as a believer to be in a basketball match? What would you like to read? What would you like to hear?

“One of our shoes, the Mighty Warrior Judah 2, the verse is the Angel calling Gideon a powerful warrior when Gideon did not consider himself a powerful warrior to begin. So, this little verse is:” I go up on the ground, I am launching my shoes. “And right there on the language, I have a verse that says:” I am a powerful warrior “. And that encourages you to go out and play your best.”
