In a statement, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy a historical relationship, rooted in faith, shared values and mutual trust.

The PM’s visit will offer an important opportunity to the two leaders to consolidate this unique partnership, while exploring new ways of collaboration, for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz was in Qatar this week, assistant to the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit, where he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman on the sidelines. The summit took place following the Israeli attack on Doha targeting Hamas negotiators.

Hamas said six people had been killed in an Israeli strike on the group complex in Doha on Tuesday, including the son of his first negotiator and an Qatari security officer.

Officials described talks as warm and cordial. The two leaders discussed the regional situation after the assault of Israel. “It was a deliberate attempt by Israel to derail the peace efforts of the Middle East,” said Sharif, condemning the attack.

Shehbaz praised Mohammed Bin Salman’s “bold leadership” in the unification of the Muslim world and assured him of “diplomatic support from Pakistan, in particular to the United Nations Security Council, where Pakistan is a non -permanent member, as well as other multiple forums, including the OIC”.

The Darrier and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, visited Saudi Arabia last month to attend the 21st extraordinary session of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) to foreign ministers.
