Pakistan and the Maldives agreed on Wednesday to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and strengthen the contacts of people to the person during a meeting between the president of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the Maldivian president Abdul Raheem Abdulla.
Sadiq said parliamentary diplomacy was vital to promote peace and development in the region.
He stressed that sustainable peace could not be carried out without solving the problems of Palestine and Kashmir, urging the Muslim omitée to adopt a joint strategy to support the oppressed people.
The High Commission for the Republic of Maldives in Islamabad also shared updates on the visit to its official X account (formerly Twitter)

He also warned that the Nexus Israel-Indian was a “serious threat” both regional and global.
Abdul Raheem Abdulla praised Pakistan’s “clear and coherent” position on Palestine and Kashmir issues and reaffirmed the commitment of the Maldives to expand legislative and institutional cooperation with Islamabad.
The Maldivian delegation is currently on a five -day visit to Pakistan at the invitation of the Sadiq speaker. The program includes meetings with political leaders, interactions with the Pakistan-Maldives parliamentary friendship group and visits to historic and cultural monuments in Islamabad.
The visit should open new avenues for regional collaboration while strengthening the links between the parties and exploring cooperation in trade, education, tourism, resilience of climate change and the promotion of stability in the region.
