- Logitech unveiled the Astro A20 X game helmet
- This multiplatform game helmet is light and has an impressive battery life
- Its design is almost identical to existing logitech G522, however
Logitech has just unveiled the Astro A20 X Gaming helmet, a new model in its Astro Multiplateforme family.
Successor of the Astro A20, the A20 X is designed to provide premium sound with 40 mm Pro-G audio pilots and the same high-resolution microphone at 48 kHz found on the Astro A50 X.
Coming only 10.2 OZ / 290g, it is a slightly light helmet and offers a high level of comfort thanks to its soft memory attests.
It also has eight customizable lighting zones, adjustable via compatible Logitech G Hub PC compatible software. Regarding the battery life, you get around 40 hours with the RGB on and 90 hours with it – more than sufficient for most players.

As brilliant as it all seems, I am always disappointed with the Astro A20 X. Physically, it seems almost identical to the existing Logitech G522 Lightspeed – a recent helmet provided with very similar technology under the hood.
Despite some red cosmetic elements, the Astro A20 X has very few points in common with the design of other Astro products, which tend to have a more angular appearance. The helmet does not even seem to have the astro logo on it, which makes me ask me why it is even marketed with this name in the first place.
The helmet came with a single Playsync base, the differentiating it from the G522, and a new button which allows you to exchange transparently between two platforms, but I am not sure that this justifies the use of the ASTRO brand, and it is a shame to see it lose part of its identity accordingly.
The Astro A20 x strikes the shelves in October in black or white. It arrives at $ 179.99, which is a little higher than the requested price of $ 159.99 of the G522 – fairly fair given the addition of the base.
The price of the United Kingdom is TBC at the time of writing, although I expect it to cost about £ 20 more than the £ 139.99 G522.
