An American Olympic medalist takes an unorthodox sporting path.
Fred Kerley, who won the 2022 world championships per 100 meters, will participate in the improved games next year, an Olympic style sporting event that allows medicines improving performance.
Kerley is now the first track athlete and the first American male athlete to get involved in the games.

Kerley won a bronze medal in Paris in summer at 100 meters, while his teammate Noah Lyles obtained his first Olympic gold and a money at the Tokyo Olympic Games. He also has world championships at the 4×400 meter relay in 2019 and the 4×100 meter relay in 2023.
The Sprinter had legal problems dating from last year. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by PK Press Club Digital in January, Kerley and his wife entered a verbal, then physical dispute, on May 6, 2024, his birthday, when Kerley’s wife was in contact with an “unknown person on Instagram”.
Kerley approached his wife aggressively, and she struck him out of fear, according to the Affidavit. Kerley then “caught the victim, pushed him to the ground, surrounded his arm around his neck and hampered his breathing”. A probable cause alert was then registered in the prison system, and was then charged after the January arrest.
In May, Dania Beach police arrived in a hotel in southern Florida before 8 a.m. after Olympic Hurdler Alaysha Johnson said that Kerley had struck her during a packaging meeting for a meeting. Kerley said he “went to F — everyone here,” Johnson said. Kerley would have struck Johnson in the face, making his nose bleed. Police have said that injuries, “said their statements.”
Kerley was to take place at 100 meters on Saturday and the 200 meters on Sunday during the Grand Slam event on the alleged incident weekend. The event later confirmed that Kerley would not compete. Kerley had been reserved for a first degree offense.

Kerley was part of the 4×100 meter team in Paris which was disqualified due to a sloppy transfer. Lyles thought of being part of this team but fell ill with Covid-19 earlier in the week, which helped to fail him at 200 meters, an event for which he had been the big favorite.
Kerley accused the United States Track and Field Association of playing favorites by adding Lyles to the 4×400 meter team at the 2024 World Championships.

Improved games are expected to take place next May in Las Vegas. Former Olympic swimmer James Magnussen, Australia, should compete, where awards up to $ 1 million are offered.
