- AMD Ryzen ai max + 395 combines the processor, the GPU and the NPU in one
- Nearly 30 mini, AI work station models were launched in the eight months
- The conceptions range from elegant towers to commercial cube commercial pcs
AMD launches its Ryzen AI Max + 395 processor as a jewel of the Crown of the Ryzen AI Max 300 series, and could take a serious challenge to the domination of NVIDIA in IA computers.
By combining 16 Zen 5 nuclei, 40 DNA GPU units 3.5 and an NPU XDNA 2 capable of 50 above, the chip is designed for the AI Edge workloads.
Its UMA memory system, which allows up to 96 GB of memory to serve as dedicated video memory, is the technological backbone that AMD claims will distinguish it.
Mini work stations AI flood the market
Although the equipment is undeniably impressive, which is even more striking is its level of adoption on mini PCs and laptops.
Since its release in January 2025, nearly 30 mini-workplates AI has already been launched, covering the two desktop and laptop conceptions.
Among the Mini PCs are the GTR9 Pro of Beelink, the help of Seaviv R1 and the Z2 Mini G1a of HP, each targeting different sections of the professional market.
Other mini PCs include the very first model based on Halo Strix, the GMKTEC EVO-X2, as well as systems such as the MS-S1 MAX mini -forum and the AAAE 395 MAX station.
On the laptop side, Chinese brands like Sixunitéd, Linglong and Tianba experience conceptions of portable halo stix that pack the Ryzen AI Max + 395 in mobile workstations.
Asus is another popular brand to use this chip in its new ROG Flow Z13, a laptop game in 2025 released earlier in 2025.
Some of these devices adopt a funky and unconventional look, more like compact game platforms than regular commercial PCs.
Others adopt forms of cube or unusually high -shaped tower, giving this wave of Halo Strix systems a mixture of elegant professional conceptions and some surprisingly offbeat creations that immediately stand out.
Traditional AI servers with several GPUs and large memory pools remain prohibitive for small businesses, often costing more than $ 21,000.
On the other hand, the Mini AI Workstations powered by the AMD chip are positioned in the range of $ 1,800 to $ 2,800.
Combined with energy requirements less than 300W and compact conceptions that adapt to an office, these devices offer a more practical route for developers, small businesses and even individual professionals.
Despite the excitement around these launches, there are not many halo stix devices of popular brands available for sale, so that real real tests remain rare.
In addition, AMD’s assertion that integrated graphics can compete with mobile RTX GPUs is not tested on a large scale.
However, with more than two dozen devices with this already announced chip, this processor can indeed be a sleeper, but the market will decide whether the daring bet of AMD is paying.
