The minor league hockey player, Orca Wiesblatt, died in a car accident Canada During the weekend, its agency and former team confirmed on Monday. He was 25 years old.
O2K Sports Management has published a declaration confirming the death of Wiesblatt.

“With heavy hearts, we mourn and share the sad news that Rarca Wiesblatt is tragically deceased. Orca was an incredible person on and out of the ice. He brought his passion for the hockey game In addition to the kindness, humility and his love for the family wherever he went, ”said the declaration.

“With her brothers and sisters, Orca has helped to raise awareness about the deaf community and underlined the importance of learning and using the American sign language. Orca will be deeply missing from everyone to O2K, and our thoughts are with the Wiesblatt family during this incredibly difficult period.”
Wiesblatt played for the athens lobsters of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) last season. The team published a statement confirming that the young player died “following a traffic accident” in British Columbia early Sunday morning.
Other details surrounding the accident were not immediately known.

“Orca will be remembered as one of the players who helped set the tone for our franchise during his very first season,” said team president Scott Hull in a statement. “His passion for the game and his contagious energy made him a favorite of fans and a real teammate. But more than that, Orca was an even better person out of the ice – kind, humble, and someone that everyone was grateful to know. We are devastated by this loss and our thoughts are with his family.”
According to the team’s website, Wiesblatt was a native of Calgary who played hockey in several minor and junior leagues, including the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). He signed with the Americans of Allen of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) last month before the start of the new season.

“We all have a broken heart,” said head coach and managing director Steve Martinson. “Orca (Wiesblatt) was really looking forward to this next step in his hockey career. He was not only qualified, he was a changing momentum. I can always see his smile when he returned to the bench after one of his big sure strokes. This is what we will miss the most, his infectious smile.”
Wiesblatt is one of the five brothers and sisters and the son of two deaf parents. The four sons played hockey, and despite the financial difficulties that their mother was faced in raising them alone, they were able to continue to continue sport at an elite level.
Ozzy Wiesblatt, Orca’s younger brother, made his NHL debut for the Nashville predators in January.
