That’s all, Meta Connect 2025 is finished and sprinkled, and it was a spectacle less than an hour filled to the brim of smart glasses in Gogo in which we cannot wait to sink our teeth.
The star of the show was, of course, the new Meta-Ray-Ban screen, which finally added a screen to the smart glasses Ray-Ban that we know and love. We were also able to see the smart glasses of New Oakley Vanguard which seem perfect for sports, the smart Gen 2 Ray-Ban glasses which offer a handful of upgrades on what came before, and James Cameron almost spoiled the next quest helmet before Mark Zuckerberg fled with Diplo.
If you don’t connect live, you’re lucky. We have an overview here for you of the 7 biggest announcements of the event so that you can inform yourself in no time.
We knew it was going to happen, but the ad is no less exciting. Meta Ray-Bans are finally delivered with a screen, which will help you perform more everyday tasks with your glasses, including checking messages, preview of your smart glasses photos and city displacement with instructions on the screen.
Although it is not the first smart glasses with a screen that we have tried, which is cool in Meta’s specifications, is that the screen is full color, which should make it more useful than the generally monochromatic display glasses that we have tested so far (like Rokid glasses). They have a solid battery life to start. Meta promises “up to six hours of battery life for mixed use” and “up to 30 hours of lifespan of the battery total” if you use the load box, which is foldable for easier storage while you wear the specifications.
The only drawback is that the glasses are significantly large, although we have had practical time with them, and in our demo, we did not find them less comfortable than the previous Meta glasses.
As expected, you will also have to pay a higher price for Meta’s display specifications. Glasses start at $ 799 (other TBC regional prices), and will be launched in the United States on September 30, which sneaks into the United States quickly.
Meta says that it will expand the availability of Canada, France, Italy and the United Kingdom at the “early 2026”. Read our first overview of the Meta Ray-Ban display glasses here.
If you take the Meta Ray-Ban display, you will not only get new glasses but a new intelligent group in the form of a meta-neuronal group.
This EMG bracelet is very similar to the one we used with Meta’s prototype – These are developing AR glasses – and allows you to control your glasses using hand movements, which can even be fairly subtle movements.
The group apparently relies on “deep learning algorithms based on data of nearly 200,000 consenting research participants”, with Meta adding that this means that almost everyone should be able to use the group outside the box.
You will only need the group to control your glasses, and it should last you all day with a 18 -hour battery life and a reasonable IPX7 water rating – it will survive heavy rain, do not forget to remove it before swimming.
3. Gen 2 Ray-Bans also arrives
Meta did not just give us new Ray-Ban specifications with a screen; He also launched Gen 2 versions of his Ray-Ban glasses, which he calls “the best-selling IA glasses in the world” (based on sales data in July 2025).
In terms of design, they are essentially identical to the existing Ray-Ban-Ban intelligent glasses of Meta, but with up to twice as much battery life (now up to eight hours) and an ultra HD 3K video capture higher, they should be a more useful AI accessory.
The generation 1 specifications are also currently, although they stick at their original price because the Gen 2 glasses start at a higher cost of $ 379 / £ 379 / $ 599 in. We expect regional prices for non-standard objectives, but in the United States, the polarized goals will cost you 409 $, while the transition lenses are $ 459-with the biggest option and the one we think that most people would find useful depending on our experience with smart Gen 1 Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
4. Oakley Vanguard will improve your sports game
In order not to be outdone, the Meta Essilorluxotica Collab brand Oakley gave us a brand new pair of intelligent glasses in the form of Vanguard, which results from HSTN smart glasses that the duo launched earlier this year.
These athletic shades take an enveloping design more visors, by moving the temple camera (where it is on the other Meta specifications) in the center of the glasses – sitting on the nose bridge.
They rely on the Oakley Prizm objectives, which are designed to increase the contrast of your vision so that you can more easily identify changes on the ground on which you run or by bicycle. This should help you be better prepared. You will also find that they are equipped with a few technological upgrades on HSTN specifications to focus more on being your perfect sports companion than a fashionable accessory.
First, they boast of Meta’s “most powerful speakers” on her AI glasses. They are 6 dB stronger than HSTN glasses, which should make it easier to hear from what your glasses say about the 30 mph wind of wind that blows you while you are cycling.
Second, you can use the Meta AI application to associate your glasses with compatible and strava tech. Using these integrations, you can say something like “Hey Meta, what is my heart rate?” Or “Hey Meta, how are I?” To obtain real -time information on your physical form to find out if you push yourself too hard or in rhythm to record a bp.
Meta has also added an automatic capture function that allows you to automatically capture the video when you reach distance steps, increase your heart rate or reach a new altitude. We can imagine that it is a great way to document your next marathon.
5. Meta added more content options for quest
While a large part of Meta Connect’s attention was on the 2025 range of smart glasses, Mark Zuckerberg could not let an entire keynote pass without approaching the quest line of VR headsets. This time, the spotlights were on the content of entertainment, going beyond VR games like several titles of Star Wars and the next Deadpool VR experience.
Nicknamed Horizon TV, this will serve as a single window center in the Quest helmets to discover content, and this provides a new major service on the platform. Disney + arrives for easy access to popular television programs and films from one of the best streaming services, and Horizon TV will add a support for Dolby Vision later this year to join the Dolby Atmos sound that he already offers to offer a more immersive entertainment experience.
James Cameron, the world renowned cinema director, went on stage for hype on the performance of the quest as a home entertainment machine and to announce that an exclusive 3D clip of Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently available in Meta Horizon TV for a limited period.
But what we care for much more is how close it was to spoil the next Meta VR helmet.
Gradually, he did not let slide at all, but his comments make us believe that if Connect 2025 was the year of smart glasses, Connect 2026 will be on VR again.
We only have 365 days before we discovered it.
7. Large VR updates are on the horizon
Meta has not completely forgotten virtual reality; Alongside Horizon TV, he also updated his horizon studio and made his Meta Horizon Engine debut.
Horizon Engine would have been “built from zero and optimized to help give life to the metavese” by delivering better graphics and faster performance. A bold promise for developers who could bring his metavese plans closer to reality.
Regarding Meta Horizon Studio, this Center for creators includes a range of AI tools which will soon be exploited by an AI agent, allowing it to sew a whole VR world based on a few simple text prompts. This is the one we will have to test.
