Nothing has just revealed its next update of the operating system, nicknamed nothing OS 4.0, that the company will deploy alongside Android 16.
It is not yet quite ready to leave, but an open beta version will soon be launched, and nothing has detailed what you can expect from this update.
The protruding facts include a refreshing design that the Nothing Phone 3 Maker claims is more fluid and intuitive, as well as a new additional mode, the management of two floating application icons to accelerate multitasking, application optimizations to make them work more quickly and more fluid, and an improved photography experience, with new camera commands and creative presets.
Nothing bone 4.0 also has a new dashboard which aims to make the behavior of IA more transparent, you can therefore remain under control better of your data when you use AI, and there are general improvements to the reactivity and stability of the operating system.

A hyper-personalized future
So there are many here, but nothing has even more exciting things planned for future updates to the operating system. In a blog article, the company has detailed its vision of an operating system “hyperrsonized with each individual”, with interfaces that will adapt to your context and your needs, suggestions that will surface naturally and AI agents which will perform most of the tasks for you.
But since everyone needs different things, nothing says “a billion different operating systems will be rendered for a billion different people”, and these personalized operating systems will follow you through devices – as well as your phone, the same operating system could be used on portable clothes, audio products and more future things like smart glasses and humanoid robots.
Nothing believes that it is unique to create this operating system of the future because it has its point of distribution of the last mile – this is the center from which the goods are sent to reach the customer. This, according to the company, provides them with contextual knowledge and essential users.
That said, it seems that this super personalized operating system could be far away, so for the moment, keep an eye on anything of the bone 4.0.
