Low flood in Kotri while the industry reflected in Guddu

The Industry river continued to undergo low level flood at the Kotri dam, while the entries have decreased in the damdu and sukkur dams in the middle of the return of normality in the rivers at Punjab, data on the floods provided by the managers of irrigation and the management of disasters on Wednesday.

According to the division of flood forecasts, Kotri’s entries increased slightly, but despite this limited increase, no increase was made in downstream discharges in the last 24 hours. There was also a sharp drop in the Guddu dam, resulting in a reduction in entries to the Sukkur dam.

From 6 p.m. Tuesday at 6 p.m. Wednesday, the Kotri dam entrances increased only by 3,535 Cuses. According to the irrigation service, the entries to the Kotri dam amounted to 304,388 CUSECs, against the outings of 289,098 CUSECs.

At the Sukkur dam, upstream entrances reached 569,890 Cuses, with outputs at 518,180 Cuses – a decrease of 1,910 Cusecases in the last 24 hours, without change in outings. The GUDDU dam entrances were 551,851 Cuses and outings 523 842 CUSECCS – Decline of 53,607 CUSECs.

In Punjab, a spokesperson for the Province of Catastrophe Management (PDMA) said that all the rivers flowed at normal levels. “The flows in Industry, Jhelum and Ravi rivers are normal,” said the spokesperson.

“The Chenab also flows at normal levels in Marala, Khanki, Qadirabad and Trimmu. The Sutlej river has an average level flood at Ganda Singh Wala, while Suleimanki and Islam Headworks normally experience floods.”

In Panjnad, according to the spokesperson for the PDMA, a low-level flood persists, the flows decreasing to 194,000 Cuses. The spokesperson added that the district administrations had remained under alert in the event of an eventuality.

In Islamabad, the federal minister Moeen Wattoo confirmed that Panjnad faced a low -level flood, but stressed that the water levels dropped. “The high-level floods persist in the damdu and Sukkur dams, but Kotri remains at a low level of flood with stable flows,” he said.

He said that the Tarbela dam was 100% filled since August 27, while the mangla dam is 96% with four storage feet. “The government focuses on the evaluation of damage and health insurance to the affected population, with accelerated emergency efforts.”

Meanwhile, Punjab PDMA provides precipitation in most districts in the coming 24 hours, the 11th rains from monsoon continuing until September 19.

According to the PDMA, precipitation was expected in Rawalpindi, Murrier, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, Gujrat and Sialkot, as well as Narowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Jhang, Sargodha and Mianwali.
