- UX 3.3 increases the towing capacity and offers new camera features
- Event recording acts as an integrated dashboard cam
- Halo’s secure functionality can protect the vehicle when parked
The owners of the high -tech severity of Lucid Motors will receive a live update which provides new impressive features.
Nicknamed UX 3.3, the upgraded operating system now offers users the possibility of pinning the destinations in navigation, while the card itself has been modified to give a better indication of the distance that it is possible to travel on the remaining load of the EV.
According to the Californian company, the audio system has also been optimized to reduce background noise during calls.
But perhaps the most interesting of everyone is the introduction of a live view function that uses the power of the many external cameras to broadcast live images to the Lucid smartphone application.
The software is in a beta version and the owners of gravity can try it for free until the end of the year. There is no word on the cost after that.
This feeds the latest Halo Secure function of the brand, which is raised directly from the Playbook Tesla and allows owners to monitor the vehicle remotely via the application.
In addition to that, Drive Recorder also acts as an integrated dashboard cam. As long as the user connects an external storage device, such as a USB dongle or a portable hard drive, gravity records and automatically saves significant events, such as extreme or sudden braking, live steering entries or a collision – all assisted by the various embedded sensors.
It is a feature that has been strongly influenced by the pioneering use by Tesla automatic pilot cameras, which can also save images on a USB device manually, automatically when an incident is detected by the company’s sensors.
Drawing power
Lucid gravity can manage a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds, which is not up there with R1T de Rivian or the various electric vans on the market, but it is good enough to transport lighter lifestyle accessories (boats, jets, motorcycles, etc.).
Lucid knows that this is a large sale argument, so also introduced a number of improved towing features, including a new towing mode which optimizes vehicle settings for performance and maximum comfort.
There is also an integrated braking control of trailers for trailers equipped with electronic brakes and a special view of the camera in the rear view monitor which allows owners to keep an eye on their precious goods during towing.
According to the owner of Lucid, these updates can be activated with a simple OTA update, proving again that the vehicles defined by software really improve with age.
