The LSU receiver discusses the state of mind of the team in the midst of the objectives of the national championship

The LSU tigers aim to return to the top of the mountain, and their departure could not have improved.

During their first season game, they took off then. 4 Clemson on the road, 17-10. For two additional victories, LSU has gone from n ° 9 to the start of the season until the country’s third row team.

“I cannot complain about leaving 3-0,” said the LSU wide receiver, Chris Hilton Jr., in a recent interview with PK Press Club Digital.

Hilton said the Tigers had a state of mind “Go 1-0 a week”, but it has been six years since LSU started his season with a victory, which, according to him, was a “good feeling”.

Expectations, however, were automatically higher. Garrett Nussmeier is in his second full season as a starter after replacing Jayden Daniels. Nussmeier had to wait for his turn, and Hilton himself, in his fifth season with LSU, has 22 career receptions, although with a mad play capacity.

“I’m pretty sure that it was a little understood, when you come in a place like this, you expect competition in these rooms. This is why you come to LSU,” admitted Hilton.

But Hilton’s new agreement with Popeyes reflects patience and hard work. The new restaurant campaign, by loading a list with 10 university athletes, is starting to celebrate university football athletes who embody the pursuit of “better” this football season.

“I really associated myself with Popeyes in the pursuit of being better on and off the field. It’s me and nine other guys, and we are just celebrating this in the season. It is their quest to be better. Being a athlete is what we are proud and a constant improvement. So that means a lot for me,” he said.

This same characteristic, however, can be said for Nussmeier, said Hilton.

“Me and Nuss, we have been together since our first year, so we have this chemistry. He is really good. The most important thing for him is the role he took as a leader. Seeing him just take this step as an aspect of leader, it was pleasant to watch,” he said.

A quarter of the regular season is already over, and except unforeseen circumstances, the Tigers will compete for a national championship in the playoffs of 12 teams this year.

But Hilton does not yet want to look to the future.

“I say the greatest thing for us at the moment, obviously, the morale of the team is raised as 3-0 at the moment. I would say that you cannot look too far in the future,” he said. “You have to block all the outside noise. There will be people who say good and bad things about the teams. It simply comes with sport. But we have to focus on the task to be accomplished, which is a game per week.”
