- Surfshark has restored its antivirus software with a new improved interface
- The antivirus will also operate directly on ARM equipment, ensuring a wider adoption in different architectures
- The update aims to improve accessibility and transparency
Surfshark has reorganized its antivirus software with an updated interface and full management of ARM devices because it seeks to improve the accessibility and transparency of its premium bundle.
Based on its basic product as one of the best VPNs on the market, Surfshark offers its antivirus software as part of its all-in-one cybersecurity suite, Surfhark One. The Bundle combines its VPN, AV, research on private search engines and its alert for monitoring data violations in a single subscription.
With the latest update, Surfshark Antivirus promises to be even easier to use on all devices. Subscribers can now install the new version by updating their Surfshark application to the latest version, then clicking on the antivirus icon.
“A big brilliant”
An overhaul of the Surfshark Antivirus interface puts more emphasis on visibility, allowing users to remain informed of what is happening in the machine room of their digital threats.
Complete protection history, including the number of threats detected, and rapid access to additional features or manual analyzes at any time are key additions, as well as an improved repair option for problems such as software conflicts.
That said, the basic functionalities of the software remain unchanged. This means that the cybersecurity tool always offers webcam protection, fully customizable security settings, spy software and malware, and the CloudProtect function for file scanning in real time.
With the antivirus using the AVRA SDK respected as an engine, the updated graphical interface represents a continuous emphasis on the user experience, in accordance with the identity of Surfhark as a reliable and reliable universal solution.
Armed and loan
Do you want to get your hands on this brilliant new interface, but run windows on the arm? Surfshark has now covered you on this front too.
While the company directed the pack on the management of ARMs for VPN (at the top of our list of the best VPNs for Windows Arm), the antivirus component was previously lagging behind, forcing users to use browser extensions or OpenVPN / Wireuard autonomous customers as school.
The product manager at Surfshark, Nedas Kazlauskas, told Techradar: “The standard version of our application could not fully execute and protect users’ devices because it was based on X86 / X64 architecture.”
Now the updated antivirus is running directly on the ARM equipment without translation layers. A movement that should allow quick loading times, a fluid user interface and responsiveness, especially on Windows laptops with Snapdragon processors.
Surfshark Antivirus obtains a new elegant support for the ARM device from R / Surfshark
As does it suggests in its ad, this decision is a direct response to user requests.
“It is true, mainly our AV was designed to support the ARM devices based on the demand of users, which increases regularly,” explains Kazlauskas. “We also support Microsoft’s efforts to make the Windows operating system safer from zero and we would like to be part of the trip to do it.”
Of course, not everyone will be attracted to the solution. Many believe that with antivirus companies as well established on the market, VPNs with antivirus are bad competitors.
Others will always be informing us about the risks of putting a lot of information back to a single supplier. Or even the choice of an antivirus company could effectively provide a “stolen door” to governments and software companies to “dig” you. Perhaps Linux is the way to follow, where security options seem endless.
Only users can decide if a one -shop solution suits them. Surfshark certainly thinks that this is the case. And although some people will not want to put all their eggs in a single basket, if you have a Snapy Windows Snapdragon laptop that you just want to work, the surfhark announcement may well have done your day.
