We have another week, and Boy, was it a big one in the wild world of technology.
The big event of the week was, of course, Meta Connect 2025, where we were presented to three new smart glasses. We have also seen the arrival of a new DJI drone, and we examined Apple’s latest technology.
Scroll down to make up for the seven stories last week last week.
7. A less known audio brand impressed us
Specialized budgetary audio soundpeats have just announced a new pair of affordable headphones that are much higher in the specifications and design class than most of its outings.
Despite the cost of only $ 129 (they will be launched on a global scale, but no price has yet been announced), they pack in an audio system with triple driver, as well as the cancellation of active noise hybrid and the Snapdragon sound, LDAC lossless and LDAC wireless. These have a more sophisticated list of specifications than AirPods Pro 3 in many ways.
The design is also a real eye sensor, with an accentuated look in gold and a larger design than certain rivals that look more like something you expect from high-end in-ear monitor earphones than a pair of budget wireless buds.
It is a declaration of intention of a manufacturer of headphones which quickly improves over time, and the Houndpeats H3 really offer high -end features at a mid -range price. They are definitely to look at – our full examination is coming soon.
6. Amazon has set a launch date for its new echoes and Kindle
If you have thought of buying a new Echo smart speaker or a Kindle e-lise, we suggest that you remember for ten days. Amazon told us this week that he organized a major material event on September 30, and we expect to see new launches in these two categories, among others.
Our in-depth dissection of the image of the Amazon teaser (see the link below) concluded that a new speaker in Echo studio, a colored Kindle, echo headphones and firefighters are the most likely arrivals. But there will probably be an even larger horde of new gadgets that are designed to operate with its new vocal assistant Alexa +, so this is certainly a date for your technological journal.
5. The DJI Mini 5 Pro has taken off
With its new drone, DJI has redefined what Mini Drones can do, thanks to its leading 1 inch sensor, as well as large flight features which are somehow pressed in a body of 249.9 g to fly under the restrictions imposed on larger leaflets.
It is so impressive, in fact, that our camera editor wonders if Dji has created a problem for himself, because he wonders if someone will want one of his other consumer drones.
To make things even better, the drone is a very good value for money. The Standard DJI Mini 5 Pro bundle is available at only £ 679 / $ 1,119 at (American price and TBC availability), which seems almost ridiculous for the set of features you get.
4. We fell in love with the iPhone 17
We have reviewed the latest Apple gadgets, and the iPhone 17, we have said that it “feels the best standard iPhone for years, Apple bringing long -standing professional features such as promotion and always to a more affordable model”.
Our tester also loved the new A19 chip, the largest screen size, improved cameras and the new iOS 26, on which the device can count.
All these positive things to say are why we think that the iPhone 17 is the one that most people should buy, especially since, for the same price as last year, you get twice as much storage.
3. iOS 26 provides a major recovery
In the launch period of the day for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air, Apple has published iOS 26, the largest update of iPhone software in years. Launching alongside iPados 26 and MacOS Tahoe 26, the update reorganizes the experience of the iPhone unexpectedly – even controversial -.
IOS 26 provides updates to photo and messages applications, new customizations, new useful power settings and a fully redesigned user interface based on Apple virtual glass material. It is the overhaul – which unifies the aesthetics of the Apple user interface through iOS, iPados, MacOS and Watchos – which has acquired the biggest reactions so far, some users professing their love for the new look and others signaling eye fatigue and related problems.
As for new features, Apple has reworked certain basic applications. The Camera application has been redesigned with a simpler look, the photo application obtains new tabs and the management of collections, and Apple Intelligence obtains improvements for visual intelligence and live translation.
Unfortunately, we have missed the VR helmet again this year in Connect this year, but Meta has not completely ignored virtual reality.
James Cameron, the world renowned cinema director, went on stage for hype on the performance of the quest as a home entertainment machine and almost spoiled the future of Meta equipment. We have also seen updates from Horizon Studio and Horizon Engine, which should be very practical for creators of the VR world.
We also saw the beginnings of the TV horizon, which will serve as a hub at the quest helmets for video content and announces the arrival of Disney + in Quest after its exclusivity Apple Vision Pro.
The Meta Connect star was the Meta-Ray-Ban display glasses, which have a color display for the first time from meta-specials. This screen can help you with navigation, translation and even make video calls, although the live demo of Meta has not gone as expected …
He also gave us Ray-Ban Gen 2 meta-lunes (without display), as well as Oakley Meta Vanguard specifications-an intelligent visor that aims to provide useful tools to athletes, such as garmin connectivity for hand-free fitness misses and the automatic capture of your steps like all kilometers of a marathon.
