Faisalabad:
The adviser to the Prime Minister of Political and Public Affairs, senator Rana Sanaullah Khan, said on Saturday that Pakistan’s political and military leaders were working in unison to shape the future of the country independently.
Addressing the business world of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), he stressed the importance of the recent Pak-Saudi Defense Pact, describing it as a “guarantee of dignity and unity of the Muslim world”.
He said that in virtue of the agreement, any attack on Saudi Arabia would be considered an attack on Pakistan, stressing Pakistan’s desire to protect both its own borders and the holy sites of Islam.
He stressed the strategic importance of Pakistan, citing past events, including nuclear tests of May 28, 1998, and the country’s measured response to the incident of Pulwama. “The world has seen that we do not bow to the assault or a compromise on national honor,” he said.
On the economic level, Rana Sanaullah rejected the default rumors as well as without foundation and said that the government had made difficult but essential decisions to stabilize the economy. While the restrictions of the IMF program limited the scope of immediate relief, he expressed his confidence that the positive results would soon be visible.
He urged the business world to maintain transparency to stimulate the global economic image of Pakistan and promised to respond to the concerns of industrial centers as a priority.
Answering questions from the media, he revealed that the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, had allocated major development funds in Faisalabad, although some have been redirected due to the flood relief needs. He also recognized long -standing negligence in the development of infrastructure and has committed to plead for a Faisalabad cancer hospital.
