US President Donald Trump swept away the late evening Jimmy Kimmel in the commemorative service of Charlie Kirk.
In a closing speech at the event held at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, this Sunday, Trump honored the conservative commentator killed as a man who “did not hate his opponents” and “wanted the best for them”.
Trump then attracted a contrast between Kirk and himself. “This is where I did not agree with Charlie,” he said. “I hate my opponents and I don’t want the best for them.”
He has spoiled several times what he described as political violence by the “radical left”, their “allies in the media” and “paid agitators”.
Without mentioning Kimmel by name, Trump referred to his program suspended ABC at the end of the evening Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
“The same commentators who this week cry for fascism during a television program at the end of the evening canceled, where the anchor had no talent and no note last year, implied that Charlie deserved what had happened to him.”
Trump also criticized those who accused him of celebrating Kirk’s death. “Some of the same people who call you a hateful to use the bad pronoun were filled with joy during the murder of a father with two beautiful young children,” he said.
“The pistol was pointed at him, but the ball was targeted to all of us,” he added.
