The interior player of the Chicago Cubs, Matt Shaw, was far from the team on Sunday when they took the Reds of Cincinnati to attend the commemorative service of Charlie Kirk in Arizona, in several reports.
The Cubs did not confirm that Shaw was absent from the Kirk service, but the Chicago Sun-Totes reported that manager Craig Counsell told the media that Shaw was in a funeral for a friend.

“Matt Shaw was not available today,” said Counsell. “He attended the funeral of a friend.”
The 23 -year -old personally knew the conservative influencer. Kirk posted a photo of himself at Wrigley Field alongside Shaw and Michael Busch last month. Shaw was scratched by programming on September 10 – the day Kirk was assassinated on the University of Utah Valley campus – for personal reasons. He then entered the game as a pinch striker, according to The Athletic.
More than 90,000 attended the commemorative service of Kirk at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The Cubs were one of the MLB teams to pay tribute to Kirk. The team called for the end of “all political violence”.

New York Yankees also paid tribute to Kirk at Yankee Stadium.
Chicago lost against Cincinnati on Sunday 1-0. The team has already won a place in the playoffs.
