Digital Charging Solutions (DCS), a German company building public load solutions for car manufacturers, fleet managers and electric vehicle drivers, warned its customers that it had suffered a rather bizarre data violation which did not include a malicious third party or an unhappy initiate.

In a letter of notification of data violation sent to several car manufacturers, in particular BMW and KIA, the company said that it had observed “irregularities” in the way in which one of its third -party service providers had managed its data recordings.
