Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, the beloved chaplain for Loyola Chicago The male basketball team retired at 106 due to health problems, according to the school newspaper of the school.
Sister Jean, who has become a must in the university basketball The community and an important member of the Ramblers family since the team’s first name with the team in 1994, only retired a few weeks after celebrating its 106th anniversary.

The vice-president of communications Christian Anderson confirmed The Loyola Phoenix Earlier this month, Schmidt will no longer serve as official functions. He did not develop the health problems of Sister Jean.

“Sister Jean is retiring and retreating official functions in Loyola,” Anderson told the student newspaper. “We are aware of the sister’s privacy with regard to health and we cannot comment on what has been mentioned in her [Aug. 21] message.”
In a message to the student body on the day of his birthday, his sister Jean explained his absence on the campus.
“Birthdays are special days, and it is also very special. In fact, I cannot be there because I have a bad cold and other health problems, so it was decided that I should not go to the Lake Shore campus to be with you on my birthday. It makes me very sad, but you can always celebrate.”

Loyola Chicago’s male basketball team finds a creative way of apologizing to Sister Jean after Snub Viral video
Sister Jean was the team’s chaplain for 30 years, but entered the spotlight during the improbable importance of Loyola Final Four in 2018 Ncaa Championship tournament.
In 2023, she went to New York for the team’s first round match in the Atlantic conference tournament 10. She was 103 years old when she made the trip.
During this trip, she made an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Where she shared the three simple things that she attributes to living a long and healthy life.

“Well, I tell people when they ask me this question that I eat well, I sleep well and, I hope I pray well,” she said at the time.
“My basketball team keeps me young. All these young people keep me young in my soul. I can’t walk, but they keep me young at heart,” she added.
