Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Trump’s public schedule, the meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m. (Friday, 1h30, Pakistan time) at the Oval Office.
Managers should discuss questions of mutual interest, regional stability and means of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.

Partnership with the Gates Foundation
Prime Minister Shehbaz also met Bill Gates, president of the Gates Foundation at a meeting with the president of the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
He made these remarks: “The eradication of polio remains a high priority, and partnership with the Gates Foundation is essential to achieve this objective,” he said.
According to the state diffuser Radiopakistan, he recognized the support of the foundation in health, nutrition, financial and rescue efforts during floods 2022 and 2025, and underlined continuous cooperation to advance socio-economic development in Pakistan.
Stressing government initiatives on economic reforms, digitization without cash and economic revitalization, the Prime Minister praised the practical and precious cooperation of the Gates Foundation.
The meeting ended with a common commitment to continue collaboration through health, nutrition, digital transformation and broader socio-economic development.

Climate finance and green initiatives
During a special climatic event convened by the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres and the president of Brazil, Shehbaz Sharif called on the international community to honor its climate financing commitments.
“Debt-oriented finances cannot tackle the climate disaster confronted with vulnerable nations like Pakistan,” he said, recalling the country devastating in 2022 which caused losses greater than $ 30 billion and millions of displaced people.

He also warned that the intense monsoon rains of this year had an impact on “more than five million people, destroyed 4,100 villages and cost more than 1,000 lives”.
Bangladesh and beyond
During his meeting with the main advisor to Bangladesh, Professor Muhammad Yunus, on the sidelines of the 80th Unga, Prime Minister Shehbaz underlined Pakistan’s commitment to “constructive and prospered links, rooted with mutual respect, shared confidence and aspirations of regional peace and prosperity”.
The two leaders reviewed the current state of Pakistani-Bangladesh bilateral relations and explored the means to improve cooperation in trade, regional connectivity and the exchanges of people to people.

The chief advisor welcomed Pakistan’s proactive commitment and stressed the importance of strengthening trade and cultural ties.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Ishaq Dar, inaugurated the recently renovated consular service zone of the Historical Consulate General of Pakistan in New York, created in 1948.
Speaking during the event, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to serve the Pakistani abroad with “dignity, efficiency and the best possible services”.

According to the press release from Foreign Office, he highlighted reforms, including the creation of special courts for the Pakistani abroad, the recording of evidence via a video link from missions abroad, electronic case deposit, the facilitation of tax and the bank, university quotas and medical colleges reserved for children in Pakistanis abroad, For airports and the introduction of the visa before arrival (VPA) for the 126 countries.
The upgraded consulate now includes a 24-hour emergency assistance line, an online appointment system, improved Nadra services, a Punjab land record kiosk, telephone management systems and improved calls, adoption of online proxy, regular e-É-Kachehris, community town hall and an increase in cultural and economic awareness.
Consul General Aamed Ahmed Atozai thanked Senator Ishaq Dar for his advice and support, noting that renovations guarantee uninterrupted services while improving the facilitation of the community.
DAR also held several bilateral meetings during the UNGA key line. He met the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prévot, to discuss the means to deepen bilateral relations.

The two leaders reaffirmed solid links, agreed to extend collaboration on economic, regional and multilateral platforms, and underlined the urgent need of a ceasefire and humanitarian relief in Gaza.
Prime Minister Shehbaz left London on Monday in New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. It will be addressed to the 193 -members assembly on September 26, covering the crisis in Gaza, the right to self -determination in Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), climate change and other global concerns.
