- The TELEMATER STYLE STYLE CAMERE is defined for the fourth quarter of 2026
- It will pack a sensor and a micro oven lenses Thirds and the lens
- Dimensions and weights are similar to those of a Ricoh Gr III
Despite growing demand for compact and pocket cameras, most major brands continue to leave this market alone. Enter the French startup funded by the Sketch camera.
It is a concept currently in the development phase of the prototype with a launch and delivery projected in the fourth quarter of 2026, but the initial sketch camera models and the potential features excited many photographers when they appeared online yesterday.
We are looking for a minimalist Clean Tymeter type camera of Leica type with a sensor and a Micro Four Thirds lens frame, it is a size similar to a Ricoh Gr IV (like a card game). Depending on the goal you strike there, it could be a truly Pochable camera.
Many are already making comparisons with the largely admired Panasonic Lumix GM5 (from 2014), a small MFT camera that Panasonic no longer made despite the pleas of his admirers.
Being a user of Ricoh Gr Iix and at the cost of buying a Leica, I can certainly see the attraction of such a camera, which should cost between 1,500 and 2,000 USD / GBP.
There is still a lot to decide concerning the design and functionalities of the sketch camera, but quickly take what we already know and how the photographers have responded to the concept so far.
Well, if Panasonic does not …
The Esquisse camera focuses on the creation of a small high quality minimalist camera that looks like the room, and the models, although obviously not final, are a promising start.
The aluminum -style and weather -resistant aluminum body includes only three exposure dials at the top, two function buttons, a reading and a click wheel. A 3.69 meter EVF is nestled in the area, while a 3 -inch touch screen dominates the rear, which indicates how small the camera will be.
It will measure 105 × 70 × 35 mm – it is a more pinch than a Ricoh Gr III – and weighs a total of 350 g (without attached objective).
We do not need to take into account the additional weight of a battery and a memory, because these components are internal. It is true, a non -removable battery and an internal memory of 256 GB.
The reflection behind an internal battery maintains the design as clean and solid as possible, but the early answer is that such a design choice will be an examination for some. Meanwhile, photos of internal memory can be shared via USB or wireless, but there is no memory card niche, as in the BF Sigma.
It will be a micro -oven thirds camera only in photography only, drawing fixed images of 20 MP and no video, with “the acquisition of lightning in autofocus”.
Essentially, we are examining a tiny micro oven thirst thirds of superior quality which could be a funny leica and fujifilm alternative as a daily carrier. Côme Courtault of the Sketch camera told me:
“Our vision is to create a camera that combines the timely shooting feeling of a leica m, the pocket of a Ricoh GR, and the modern performance of the micro oven system today.”
It will not be the first telemeter style camera to get out of France – consult the manual focus only Pixii. However, this could be the most accessible.
I will closely monitor this project and the way the camera is developing. Will a hosthoe frame be added? Will there be U Towers on aspects of the concept already shared? I am delighted to see more!
