Ghani Questions Demolition of Nasla, Aladin Park

Karachi:

Many buildings built illegally have been regularized in Islamabad and other provinces, however, the rules are different for the Sindh, in particular Karachi, said provincial minister Saeed Ghani on Friday.

He remembers terribly the demolition of the Nasla tower which deprived dozens of families of their hard -won investments and the End Club Pavilion and Aladin Park which snatched the cheapest leisure park filled with many rides by the inhabitants of the metropolis.

These demolitions were ordered in 2021 by the chief judge of the Supreme Court of the time, Gulzar Ahmed, who was known for having taken a strong position against illegal constructions and encroachments in Karachi during his mandate. However, he has taken no measure against many illegal structures in the capital and other urban centers in the country.

Ghani expressed his concerns about incoherent construction standards through the provinces and questioned the justification for demolishing major projects such as Nasla Tower and the End Club Pavilion and Aladin Park. Speaking after visiting the exposure of building materials organized by the association of Builders & Developers on Friday, he said: “Illegal construction is a serious offense – but if a manufacturer built a building after obtaining approval from the SBCA, buyers cannot be held responsible.”

Ghani has made a local and international tour of the exhibition and praised the participation of several well -known construction companies offering affordable materials, saying that these activities are vital to stimulate the economy of Pakistan. He argued that the sale of low -cost building materials helps create livelihoods and that it is the government’s obligation to frame laws that support legitimate affairs.

While insisting that the illegal structures should be processed, Ghani questioned the justification of the wheel projects of several million bearings: “If the Nasla tower or the end of the pavilion was badly constructed, what justified their demolition?” He asked, adding that people involved in illegal construction were to be continued.
