New phase of CPEC to increase employment, economic uprising: Ahsan Iqbal

The Minister of Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, expressed his confidence that the next 10 years of phase II of the CPEC will have a transformer impact on people’s lives.

The information media in Beijing after the 14th meeting of the Pakistani-China joint coordination committee, he said that phase II of the CPEC, which has been officially launched, will generate employment possibilities and cause structural changes in the Pakistani economy, filing it towards a more advanced economy.

He was convinced that the results of the meeting of the joint coordination committee would further accelerate cooperation between Pakistan and China.

IQBAL said that the second phase of the CPEC focuses on the modernization of agriculture in Pakistan, the expansion of industrial cooperation and the creation of technological partnerships. He said it will also focus on deepening the contacts of people to the person.

He mentioned that phase II of the CPEC envisages five corridors: the growth corridor, the living room lane, the innovation corridor, the green corridor and the regional opening / connectivity corridor.

He said that the roadmap established for the second phase of CPEC is focused on people and would promote inclusive development.

Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan will develop a strong capacity in the performance of the export sector with Chinese experience. He said the two parties discussed the creation of a CPEC Future Skills, Robotics, Fintech and Biotechnology program, adding that smart agricultural projects will be introduced for sustainable development.

He said the two countries had agreed to immediately start work on the realignment of phase II of phase II of Karakoram. We will also work together on a mineral corridor in Balutchistan to connect Gwadar to minerals from northern Balutchistan. This, he said, will make the port of Gwadar commercially very attractive.

Ensuring full security of Chinese projects and workers in Pakistan, the Minister of Planning said that Pakistani-Chinese friendship is unbreakable and rooted in mutual trust. He said that Pakistan and China will together go to the conceptions of elements abroad that wish to disrupt progress and cooperation between the two countries.
