- More UI 8.5 features have leaked
- Upgrades of the application of the camera are rumors
- Network switching could become easier
The significant update of the User Interface 8 (based on Android 16) continues to move to older galaxy phones, but an 8.5 user interface is already being discussed – and new leaks give us a better idea of three useful features than the software upgrade can bring with.
As spotted by @achour_hm (via Sammyguru), it seems that the updated camera application will bring several video presets to the interface. This means that you can switch quickly between looking like them blockbuster and thriller with a blow on the screen.
Another feature was discovered by @LaidBackDev_ (still via Sammyguru). In this case, there are text channels referring to 3D, VR and space supports inside the camera application, suggesting more functionalities to come – perhaps a 3D photo and video capture.
Spatial photos and videos can be captured by the latest iPhones, but you need an Apple Vision Pro helmet to be able to see them correctly. With the Samsung AR / VR helmet in the pipeline, this functionality update may be linked.
Intelligent networking

Yet another potential feature of the 8.5 user interface was found by the Sammyguru team: it seems that the software will make the change between cellular and Wi-Fi more transparent and simpler for users.
This will be done via two rocking switches, the evaluation of intelligent links and the intelligent network switch, which will take advantage of AI to decide whether your phone must be connected to cellular networks or to an available Wi-Fi network.
This may depend on factors such as the safety and speed of the Wi-Fi network, and if you have already been connected to a particular Wi-Fi network. In theory, the user experience must be improved and less manual switching will be necessary.
All these features are subject to a change of course, and it is not yet clear when an 8.5 user interface could be formalized or start to deploy. This could well make an appearance in January, alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26 handsets that we are waiting for.
