- These premium YouTube features arrive at more users
- They cover reading speeds, audio quality and smart downloads
- YouTube has just reorganized its page of experimental functionalities
If you have weighed, whether or not youtube is worth the subscription fees, you now get five additional features for your money. These features were previously available as tests or on a limited selection of devices and are now more widely deployed.
The new features are described in an official article in the YouTube aid forum (via 9TO5GOOGLE). The first is the possibility of strengthening the reading speeds to a 4x pacy, which is double the maximum 2x speed that regular YouTube users obtain. This is now fully available on Android, iOS and the web.
Then there is a higher quality audio, which accelerates 256 kbps on officially labeled videos like musical pieces. This has already been available via YouTube Music, but is now an option on YouTube for Android and iOS too.
Then, is jumping, which allows you to quickly jump to the most seen sections of a video (in theory, cut the least interesting parts). Premium YouTube subscribers already have access to this on the desktop and on mobile, and the functionality is now postponed to YouTube applications for smart televisions and game consoles.
Youtube shorts features
The other two features that we need to cover relate to YouTube shorts. Intelligent downloads for shorts – where the YouTube application will automatically download the recommended clips to look while you are offline – has already been available on Android and has been tested on iOS, and now arrives at all iPhone users.
This is the same scenario for the final functionality: the image mode in the image for YouTube shorts. You could previously get it on Android and opting to test it on iOS, but it is now an official part of the YouTube application for iOS.
Although these are not enormous improvements, they are all useful in their own way, and the premium YouTube subscribers will be happy to see more parity of functionalities on several devices. These features add to everything you get, including visualization without advertising, video downloads and the first YouTube music.
Some of these features are upgraded to opt-in experiences at the same time as YouTube reorganizes its YouTube Labs offer, which now seems to have a new name and a new focus on AI features.
