- OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will be launched on a global scale
- The Chinese phone manufacturer has also revealed a new edition of sand from the sandstone of the new phone, with a new material on the frame
- The phone should be launched in China before other markets
OnePlus has confirmed that the recently revealed OnePlus 15 will be launched worldwide and will wear a whole new design and colored option labeled Sand Storm.
The company revealed the new phone in black during a recent Qualcomm event in China, but this is the first that we heard of the new sand storm design option. According to OnePlus, it’s more than a new color and adds micro-arc oxidation (MAO) to the frame and camera case.
The MAO process creates a layer of crystalline oxide on metals such as aluminum or titanium, which can offer additional protection against wear. OnePlus says that this coating is 3.4 times more difficult than an aluminum framework and 1.3 times more difficult than a titanium in the middle of the frame.
In addition, the rear panel of the phone will be in fiberglass, an increasingly popular choice due to its light weight and strong resilience. It is not yet clear if these design specifications will apply to all OnePlus 15 models, or simply Sand Storm Edition.
True to its name, the Sand Storm edition of the OnePlus 15 is available in a sandy beige color which has recovered – and although the design itself has not landed in the best reactions, I am a big fan of this subtle color.
Although OnePlus claims that the new phone will be launched worldwide, it is likely that the new handset will be launched on the company’s internal market of the company before becoming international, based on previous launches.
The current generation OnePlus 13 is our choice for the best Android phone that money can buy (naturally, it also ranks like the best OnePlus phone). His quick performance, his excellent cameras and his life of the ridiculous battery saw him shoot at the top of our ranking during its international release in early 2025.
Thus, the OnePlus 15 has large shoes to fill. We have not yet received complete specifications for the new phone, but we know that it will have the new generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 chipset and the new Detailmax image chipset of OnePlus.
