- WhatsApp announced its last big round of updates
- It includes the possibility of sharing movement / live photos in the application
- There are also new AI tools such as personalized themes
WhatsApp has announced a multitude of upgrades for iOS and Android users who will facilitate souvenir sharing using the application – and will also help you remember which strange group cat you are looking for.
Starting with this first change (revealed in WhatsApp’s blog), it will soon be possible to share live photos and movement photos (from iOS and Android respectively) via WhatsApp.
These alternative shots show your image as if it were a live – a bit like a GIF or a short video – and can help you better capture a moment than you would with a single photo or a quick clip alone.
If you are on Android, you also have access to the scanning of documents so that you can scan, crop, send and save documents directly inside the WhatsApp application. This should be practical for your more formal cats because it reduces the need to use an entirely different application to first prepare a document.
Don’t worry about iPhone users, you don’t miss it. You should already have scanning documents available on your device via WhatsApp. Just go to a cat, press the ‘+’ icon, choose the document, then press the analysis document.
What cat was it again?
We were all there. Your flow is filled with silly nicknames and absurd group cat titles to the point that it is in fact impossible to keep a trace of the group for all these layers.
An example is that my old group cat of university dishes companies is called “Six, but in a French way”, having started years ago as simply “Queensway House”.
Now, I remember that group name name, but if I didn’t do it, I would probably never find it, except by manually searching each group. Fortunately, WhatsApp adds a new useful search tool, because now, if I am looking for the names of people I know in the cat, the application will show me the group cats that we share.
Once you have found your group cat of choice, you can enjoy a few new updates from the Meta AI Gapicity AI.
You can use the bot to help you generate your own personalized cat themes as part of the cat themes’ functionality.
In addition, when you call video (individually or in a group), you can get an AI to produce a unique background for you – places you already like or somewhere completely new. You can also use these backgrounds in your snaps and the videos you make in the WhatsApp application.
This is not the most revolutionary update, but it seems to be fun, so I’m going to the Play Store at the moment to make sure I have installed the latest version of Whatsapp.
Meta has not shared exactly when all these features (including live and motion photo support) will be deployed, but we have asked for an estimate and update this story when we hear.
