US companies adopt Mac not only for creative work or applications development – but as an infrastructure for AI, said new research.
The figures for a MACSTADIUM survey with 300 CIOs reported 73% AI treatment cited as the highest use case for Apple equipment today.
Almost all respondents said Apple technologies are important for their computer strategies, 22% calling them “mission criticism”. Apple now represents an average of almost two thirds (63%) of the company’s assessment criteria, and 96% of CIOs said they expect Mac investment in the next 12 to 24 months.
Mac investment to increase
Ken Tacelli, CEO of Mastadium, said that the results confirm what the company has seen.
“Apple is no longer just for developers. Macs feed the workloads of AI, management teams, creative functions and business flows,” he said.
“As organizations accelerate their cloud strategies, Apple infrastructure has become an essential component and ready for the company of IT environments.”
AI workloads are already ahead of traditional tasks such as the development of 68%iOS and macOS applications.
The construction, testing and deployment of workflows came to 61%, followed by remote office functions at 51%and EDGE computer at 46%.
Security and confidentiality are key engines for adoption. Material security features, Isolation models and Apple silicon have called on companies to deploy a cloud -based private AI.
Almost two -thirds (60%) of the CIOs said that Apple Silicon has greatly influenced their decision to extend the use of Mac, while a third party (33%) said it had somewhat influenced them. Only 7% said it had no impact.
The deployment of the cloud was another factor, because the vast majority (97%) of CIOs said that it had used Mac infrastructure in the Cloud, 77% saying that they used it in depth, supporting the remote staff and widening AI compatible workflows.
Overall, the results suggest that Macs pass from a niche role in development to a broader role as an infrastructure.
