Sarah Jessica Parker opened the way her mother established love for reading in her heart.
In a recent conversation at 92ny with the author Victoria Redel and the editor Adam Moss in Kaye Playhouse in New York, the 60 -year -old actress explained how she had adopted a love for her mother’s books, Barbra Forste.
THE And just like that … The actress revealed that her mother was a passionate reader and used to withdraw books from signals and stops.
“She read everything, from the moment she was a little girl,” recalls Parker. “She went to a very good high school in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in a way talked to the librarians of her public school library, as well as to our community library, to hang on to the New Yorker and Sunday Times for her.”
Parker also looked at her childhood and shared that she had never owned children’s book but rather used to get supplies from a local library.
“We were in our local public library all the time. This is our only way to have books. We did not buy books, we do not have books that were for our age. My parents had books … We just read all the big books for classic children,” said Parker.
THE Hocus Pocus Star’s love for reading led him to have a publication imprint, SJP LIBE, launched in 2022.
“We are trying to find books that really fascinate us, that really impress us immediately,” added Parker. “We hope that we will have the chance to publish them and present a writer to readers or to present a writer who makes his debut as a writer … Whenever a writer says yes, this is a big problem for us.”
