MLB News: Brian Snitker of Braves as manager 4 years after World Series

The brave of Atlanta announced that manager Brian Snitker would go to an advisory role with the team on Wednesday.

Snitker, 69, had just concluded his ninth full season by managing the Braves and his 49th in the general classification of the organization.

The organization will integrate Snitker into the Brave renown temple before a match next season, the team said.

Snitker helped lead the brave to the fourth title of the World Series of the franchise in 2021 against the Astros of Houston. He won 811 victories during his career, and won six titles from the National League East and played seven appearances in the playoffs during his 10 seasons of his management mandate.

The Braves named Snitker their acting manager in May 2016 and hired him as a full -time manager at the end of the season. Snitker had a record of 811-668 on his mandate, and only Bobby Cox (2,149) and Frank Selee (1,004) have more victories as a manager in the history of the franchise.

Snitker joined the organization Braves for the first time as a free agent not drafted in 1977. He succeeded for 20 seasons in the minor leagues, going 1,301-1 309. He won the manager of the year in 1999 and 2000 with Single-A Myrtle Beach.

He won the manager of the National League of the year with the Braves in 2018 and was a finalist for the prize four times during his mandate.

The Braves finished 76-86 and fourth in the National League East this season. It was the second first season under Snitker’s mandate and the first time they have missed the playoffs since 2017.

The Braves are now the eighth team looking for a manager before next season.
