Lahore:
The Pakistan Human Rights Commission (HRCP) has expressed profound concern concerning the extraordinary delay in the application of the National Commission for the Rights of Minorities and has urged the government to implement it without further delay to ensure the protection of the fundamental rights of minorities.
In an open letter addressed to President Asif Ali Zardari and the Federal Minister of Law, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, HRCP president, Asad Iqbal Butt, noted that the bill had been adopted by Parliament on May 12, 2025, and transmitted for a presidential opinion.
