Karachi: Light rains and a drizzle are expected today (Thursday) while humidity persists in the port city, said the meteorological department of Pakistan (PMD).
The Met Office said that the existing wet time is likely to stay the same with partial coverage of the clouds on the metropolis over the next 24 hours.
According to the department, the maximum temperature in Karachi can reach up to 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum recorded was 26.9 ° C. The humidity in the air has been reported to 74% in the last 24 hours.
The current forecasts of light rains and drizzle are in the wake of a distinct low pressure system. He got closer to the Oman Sea in recent days, increasing the risk of a tropical cyclone later this week. Heavy showers had beaten the port city on Tuesday under the same system, bringing a brief respite from suffocating time.
However, the PMD in its last update on the system, said it was currently located above the Northeast Arabian Sea should not become a tropical cyclone.
The system is located about 440 kilometers south of Karachi and is likely to dissipate over the sea in the coming days, he added.
The PMD advised Sindh fishermen to avoid venturing into deep waters until tomorrow as a precaution, although there is no threat of immediate cyclone for the coast.
