- Samsung watches will “soon” obtain early detection of heart failure
- Functionality already has regulatory approval in South Korea
- Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch sleep scores do not seem to work properly
Portable devices are improving to detect various health problems, thanks to improvements in sensor and AI technology, and Samsung has announced that its Galaxy watches will soon be able to spot certain early signs of heart failure.
According to a new blog article, Samsung portable devices will be able to “soon” alert users of signs of left ventricular or LVSD systolic dysfunction signs. This is where the heart muscles are weakening, affecting the blood pumping capacity, and it is considered responsible for about half of the heart failures in the world.
Having already received regulatory approval in South Korea, the next step will be authorization in other parts of the world. The functionality could be on the way soon, although Samsung did not specify which of its Galaxy Watch models could get it.
The same blog article also describes the non -invasive brain digitization technology on which Samsung works, which would allow EEG (electroencephalogram) style analyzes to search for problems such as drowsiness, for example. This innovation seems more extinguished, although it can possibly work as a complementary module to Samsung Galaxy Buds.
Sleep more deeply?
Meanwhile, back with the applications and features of Watch Galaxy Watch of Samsung, something strange seems to be going with sleep score reports: as Android Authority noted, many users see changes in the figures they get in the morning.
Galaxy watches are able to produce a personalized sleep score after each sleep period, which factors in several variables – including the duration of your sleep and the depth of your sleep – to produce a number up to 100 (which would be equal to the perfect sleep session, without any necessary improvement).
This Thread Reddit offers many examples of users who have started to strike 99 or 100 almost every day. Either something has changed in the algorithms that Samsung uses, the Galaxy Watches Dorts a lot, much better. As the insects go, it is not the most serious, but it interferes with the ability of people to follow their sleep hygiene.
Samsung has not yet commented on the issue, and these scores may go back to normal as suddenly as they have gone wrong. In the meantime, if you see similar figures in your own Samsung Health application, know that you are not the only one.
