Unidentified armed men have kidnapped five employees of a gas pipeline with their vehicle in the jurisdiction of the Daraban police station in the Di Khan district in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
The incident occurred on the Dera – Zhob road near Zarkanai, where the attackers intercepted the vehicle of the company belonging to the Sar Dagar camp limited Sar Dagar in Daraban.
Employees kidnapped were identified as the Khurshid foreman, Khalid Mushtaq of Punjab, the driver Ramzan, Adnan of Lakki Marwat and the Christian worker Suraj Kumar.
Sources said the victims were traveling in the company’s vehicle when armed men suddenly arrested them and took them by force in an unknown place. The reason behind the removal has not yet been determined.
Police officials confirmed that a research operation was immediately launched as a result of the incident, while control posts and roadblocks were installed in the surrounding areas to find the kidnappers.
The incident triggered panic and fear in the region, residents urging the government to take urgent measures to ensure the safe recovery of kidnapped employees and to restore security in the region.
